ClearPlay Receives 2007 Innovation Award

Movie filtering technology an important innovation for parents.

Salt Lake City, May 11, 2007—ClearPlay Inc. has been named a winner of the fifth annual Utah Innovation Awards program, presented by Stoel Rives LLP and the Utah Technology Council. ClearPlay was chosen first in the Consumer Software category by a committee of experts from private industry, government and higher education.

ClearPlay markets a DVD player that lets you watch movies with control over offensive content, such as sex, violence and profanity. The company creates unique Filters for popular Hollywood movies that smoothly skip over offensive parts at the customers choosing. The ClearPlay DVD player is available at the company website and in major retail, including Target stores nationally.

ClearPlay is also being licensed by major Consumer Electronics (CE) companies for a variety of digital viewing products. The CE industry is showing increased interest in parental controls, as companies such as Microsoft and TiVo have demonstrated their marketing appeal to families. The Federal Communications Commission has also begun to look carefully at how parental controls can help to offset the increasingly graphic content freely available in the media.

ClearPlay is the leader in parental control technology and offers the only movie filtering product on the market today. In addition to the award-winning ClearPlay DVD Player, the company has developed intellectual property and technology around a range of parental controls for integration into consumer electronic devices.

“We’re delighted to be recognized for our product,” said Matt Jarman, ClearPlay founder. “And it’s very gratifying to be able to offer technological innovations that have been so warmly received by families across the country.”
