Second Patent Granted to ClearPlay Core patent covers skipping and muting of movie content. Seven additional patent applications have been filed in support of this product. Salt Lake City, May 26, 2005—ClearPlay Inc., the leader in parental control technology, has been awarded its second patent. Patent number 6,898,799—Multimedia Content Navigation and Playback—was awarded to ClearPlay on May 24. ClearPlay has applications pending for this patent in several international markets as well.This is the second patent to be awarded to ClearPlay in as many months, and strengthens its position in the growing market for filtering of unwanted content from movies. ClearPlay has patent applications pending for seven additional U.S. patents around this core product. The company has also applied for several other patents pertaining to upcoming parental control products for consumer electronics. “The potential for this technology is enormous,” said ClearPlay co-founder and inventor Matthew Jarman. “We continue to develop and add valuable innovations to our ClearPlay parental control products.” ClearPlay introduced the first and only DVD filtering technology along with RCA in 2004. It has two new products which will be introduced this summer.
